La missione del Dipartimento è di ampliare le conoscenze scientifiche, fondamentali ed applicate, attraverso lo sviluppo di avanzate metodologie biotecnologiche e modelli bio-economici anche con l’utilizzo dell’intelligenza artificiale. Queste conoscenze hanno come obiettivo di sviluppare un sistema agroalimentare sostenibile, facilitare il processo di transizione ecologica, salvaguardare la biodiversità ed ottenere cibo di qualità nelle quantità necessarie ad una popolazione in crescita.
